Unbounded Adoration

Kids amaze for their ability to instantly adore someone. Case in point - I substituted in a third grade class this afternoon, and within 45 minutes, received the following:

Within minutes of having met her, she could sense my prodigious nobility. I'm not sure how she knows how nice I am to my friends, but my guess is she's clairvoyant.

Cute. Have you ever got a "you're cute" note from a little boy? Just curious. Actually, now that I think about it, it was brave of the girl to give you a note. Aren't notes against the rules in most classrooms? We always had to sneakily pass them.

It was actually while they were practicing writing letters, and they were allowed to choose who to write to. So, no foul there. But notes are a surprisingly big deal in middle school and high school when I'd think most kids would be past that. I swear I didn't pass notes past the 6th grade.
