Oozing with Talent

Janelle singing "Maybe" and Sophie singing "Little Girls"

RS Dance Crew performance to Taio Cruz's Dynamite (or "The answer to why mom's aren't invited to stake dances") Sophie is admittedly not the best camera girl ever so take some Dramamine first. My fellow dancers are Amanda Maki, Stephanie Shinkle, Cori Hoffman, Lori Lyman, Autumn Depuglia, Amanda Davis and Jaclyn Shinkle.

And Claire, not wanting to be left out, went up to Todd who was the MC and announced that she had a talent too. She sang Tomorrow impromptu and acapella (parts of it anyway) but we didn't start videoing in time, so here is what we got of it.

Hollywood or Bust

What this taught me:
Claire - EVERYTHING is a part of her heart

Natalia - "Jesus likes 'Single Ladies'"

Claire: Mom, is it sunny outside?
Me: No, not really.
Claire: Can I go swimming?
Me: No, not today.
Claire: Why not?
Me: Because it's too cold outside.
Claire: When will it be sunny?
Me: I don't know
Claire: Well why don't you PRAY and ask Heavenly Father? He knows when it will be sunny again!

Nice Try, Brooke

Brooke just walked in and handed me a stack of notebook papers and asked, "Mom, will you put your signature on the bottom of all these?" Since I have not recently fallen off a turnip truck and was not born yesterday, I knew she was up to no good.
"You want me to sign these so you can write a bunch of stuff and try to hold me to it, right?"
"I'd rather not say..."
"Yeah. Nice try, Brooke."
a few seconds later I heard:
"Dad, will you put your signature on the bottom of all these?"
"ok"

Made me laugh

As seen in the April 2011 Reader's Digest:

Brooke found this and shared it with me. Here is how it reads -

Humorist Steve Melcher says artists are lousy at naming their work. Look at these classics, The Desperate Man and Academic Life Study. Really? In That is Priceless (Andrew McMeel), Melcher does some retitling.
Johnny Depp Realizing He Left the Oven On,
by Gustave Courbet, French
That Weird Guy at Yoga I Was Telling You About,
by Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida, Spanish

I get so excited when the RD comes every month...great bathroom reading :)
