TMI

I was about to fill out the product registration on a new steam iron I just got (got it for 5 bucks clearance at Costco, retails for $52 at Target! - Thanks Pook for the awesome deal!), and all of a sudden, I felt like the questions were getting really personal. Way beyond name, address, and phone number. It made me really uncomfortable - like I was just GIVING my identity away to any old steam iron company thief. I mean, really, am I supposed to just assume that all the people who would have access to that information are upstanding, honest human beings? So here's a quiz. Try to figure out which questions were really on the product registration, and which I just made up. It might surprise you!

1. Date of birth
2. Approximate date of conception
3. Number of children
4. Marital status
5. Occupation
6. Are you sexually active? How often on average?
7. Are you or your spouse in the military?
8. Are you or your spouse working from a home office?
9. Are you or your spouse unemployed?
10. Are you or your spouse currently menstruating?
11. Annual family income
12. Store item was purchased at
13. Level of education
14. Regularly used credit cards
15. Preferred brand of toilet paper
16. Do you own or rent your house?
17. Pets?
18. How many magazines do you subscribe to per month?
19. What other brands of household appliances do you own?
20. Do you homeschool?
21. What is the gender and age of all the other children and adults living in your household?
22. Do you donate to charitable causes?
23. Are your children immunized?
24. Do you own an Apple computer?
25. Are you a do-it-yourself person?
26. Do you speak Spanish?
27. Are you a member of a frequent flyer program?
28. Do you wanna go out sometime? Check yes_ or no_
29. Any distinguishing scars?
30. Do you read the Bible?
31. Do you or your spouse enjoy bicycling? Golf? Snow skiing? Fishing? Sailing? Gardening? Crafts? Fashion? Photography? Gambling? Wine tasting? Studying US History? Stamp or coin collecting?
32. Do you like to party?
33. Do you strive for self-improvement?
34. How attached are you to your identity?

Here's a scary hint - only 10 of these were made up, can you guess which ones are fake?

End of Summer, Beginning of School

Camping Labor Day weekend is always the perfect ending to the summer:

Riding around, sucker in hand, and enough sugar to keep her wired till Christmas
It's amazing how a pile of sand is entertainment enough for kids for three days without getting old.
Somebody loves her Grandma (and although she was jokingly accused of sucking up for the inheritance, I don't think she even knows what that means!)

You know how boys can turn anything into a gun... Girls can turn anything into a baby (or a phone)Potty training
And back to school!
(Is it wrong for me to insist that my kids coordinate on the first day of school? It's a good thing I step in occasionally in the name of fashion though. I have to save them from themselves. Sophie almost wore camoflage and paisley today.)
