One Month

Eden is one month old today - I wish I had the power to pause and rewind life sometimes (and to fast forward other times). We're totally and completely enjoying this new little addition to our family. (And as evidenced by the pictures, haircut #2 won).

In Need of a Haircut

I know there are far more important things in this world to currently worry about, so while we do our part to help people in Haiti and Chile and other disasters in this world, let us relax and think about some less stressful things like hairstyles, lest we look dowdy in the process of saving the world. (Don't you love it when you see documentaries of celebrities helping poor people and they're wearing their grubbies as if they don't want to remind the suffering poor that one of their pairs of jeans could feed their family for 3 months) Anyway, I'm in desperate need of a haircut and have been putting it off because I can't decide what to do. So try your best to ignore the bad photo editing, try to get an idea of what the following haircuts would look like (color is negotiable) and vote for your favorite. Yay - fun! I don't know how boys go for decades with the same hairstyle - how boring.

#1 shoulder-length, soft waves

#2 chin-length, wavy

#3 shoulder-length, smooth with bangs (would take some serious styling to get it to look like that, but I'm willing to try. Maybe)
#4 Long layers
#5 Long, layered, with bangs
#6 short chin-length bob (ignore my actual hair strands messing up the picture)
#7 medium choppy layers with sort-of bangs

Odds and Ends

Janelle made this Valentine squiggly guy in school. She informed me that she intends to save it and give it to her husband as a wedding gift :) Who needs a dowry with an offer like that?

Nothing Exciting

38 weeks tomorrow and I think I'm going insane. I've spent the past two weeks expecting to go into labor at any moment, experiencing every pre-labor sympton in the book except my water breaking or the urge to push. Now all my energy is spent and I've concluded that this baby is never going to come. (I know I'm not even at my due date yet, but my mental due date was a week ago) She's probably going to stay in my belly till she's 18 and moves into an apartment.

On another note, I'm still nesting like a crazy woman, and while cleaning out an old trunk of Todd's, I had to wonder why he's been holding on to this for the past 30 or so years:

He said it's to remember fondly the crap he used to get in his stocking. I think he should go ahead and make use of it on his business cards or something - no sense in wasting perfectly good personalized rainbow sticker tape :)
