Claire saw this sour cream in the fridge, and convinced it was yogurt, she REALLY wanted to eat it. So I thought, "Let's see how she reacts, this could be funny." You know that part in "Notting Hill":
"There's something wrong with this yogurt."
"It's not yogurt. It's mayonnaise."
"Right. That's it then." [continues eating]
That's what it was like. Undaunted, she ate on.
So then, one day we thought it would be funny to give her plastic play food at dinner to see what she would do. She started poking it with her fork, and when she realized it wasn't real, she was pretty annoyed with us for laughing at her. It reminded me of Brooke and Janelle at that age finding a plastic Oreo cookie. Brooke got really excited to eat it, tried to take a bite, then threw it across the room in dissappointment :)

That is so funny! Hayden really loves sour cream too! She will eat spoon fulls of it. Then the other night we were having hamburgers and there was Miricle Whip on the table, Hayden thought it was sour cream (it is white!) So I put a dab on her plate thinking the same thing, this will be interesting. She was mad! She threw her spoon at me and cried. Ok maybe not the best trick to play on her. But she would have done the same thing if I hadn't given it to her! Oh well! I love the fake food! I should try that next!
It is so funny when kids get their mind set on something.
Look at how blonde her hair is. Sour cream is pretty good, but I've never ate it out of the container. Nice one with the play food.
We still have those plastic oreo and chip ahoy cookies and we are still fooling a many a child. However, your twins have been by far the most dovoted to eating those fake cookies. I remember a few temper tantrums over those cookies a time or two. I guess if your wish long enough, perhaps they might become real.
Seriously I about fell over laughing at your dinner for Claire.
