1 is the loneliest number (or is it???)

If you are truly observant, you may have realized I have a poll added to my site (looked fun, had to try it). By way of explanation, Todd and I have had this ongoing debate for almost 10 years now: which number is loneliest, 1 or 0. Obviously 1 is lonelier because 0 is the equivalent of a void therefore, the adjective lonely cannot apply to it. How can nothing feel anything I ask???!!! Todd contends that 0 is lonelier because it doesn't even have itself. You might wonder how such an argument can sustain itself over 10 years. The answer is: we're good at it. After all, Todd's in law school (liar school), so he could argue that an orange is actually purple and somehow make it sound reasonable. And I'm right so I don't need any fancy tricks, just the plain and simple truth for me, thank you.

I love to debate too. It makes good competition in a relationship. Hope all is well. I can't believe Claire is one.

I'm with you. 1 is the loneliest number.

That is just the funniest thing I have read all week. You two have such a good sense of humor.

I can totally hear Todd making this arguement. That's a voice in my head I haven't heard in ages!!!

My strong point is NOT debate...I can't help you on this one. Ron is the exact same way. He too can make arguements about things and leave you standing there doubting what you knew to be true. It's part of his charm!! :) I was hoping that somewhere in my math background I heard zero is not really a number but indeed it is. I looked it up! Good Luck!

Now that's an interesting point, if zero doesn't even qualify as a number, his point is null - but I think you're right, it isn't a quantity, but it is technically still a number...no matter I'm certain the ones have it!
