Sophie's school choir had a concert last night and she had a solo on the song "Tomorrow." She did such a great job!

All Because I Was Watching "The Office"
and not paying attention to what my two-year-old was doing. I naively thought she'd gone to bed with her sisters, but she obviously thought it would be a much more fun idea to play with markers. Can you tell which picture is Claire and which is Emmett Kelley, aka Weary Willie?

Portland Zoo
Our friend Maggie, took Claire and I out for a day of fun yesterday which started with the zoo, continued at Washington Square, and ended at a little Cajun place in the Pearl District that served frog legs and alligator among other "treats." The only pictures I got though were at the zoo, so here are a few:
The naked mole rats - Pook, this one's for you. They're beautiful, aren't they?

Same Picture, Different Interpretation
We have this book, "Book of Mormon ABC's" that Sophie got when she was a baby. Each letter refers to a word that has some connection to a Book of Mormon story. For some reason, page Q seems to catch my kids' attention, though for different reasons. The picture is of King Lamoni and the Queen watching over him.
As an unrelated side note, there is the part of the story where King Lamoni has been unconcious for a few days and the servants are beginning to complain that he stinks. The Queen, loving and devoted as she is, says something like, "some say he stinketh, but to me he stinketh not." Todd loves to throw that at me whenever I tell him he stinks. :)
Anyway, when Sophie was two, she saw the picture and thought it was of our friend David. She was kind of obsessed with him at the time though, so it figured.
Claire was looking at it today and told me it was a picture of Sleeping Beauty. I assumed she was talking about the man at first and asked, "You mean this guy," I said, pointing to it, "Is this Sleeping Beauty?" "No," she clarified, and explained that the woman was Sleeping Beauty and that she was sad because the prince wouldn't wake up and get out of her bed! He wouldn't even scoot over to "nuggle" - can you believe that? (You can hear she's already starting to lose the "freaking" in her pronounciation. It makes me sad.)
